چکیده

This paper develops a method for solving Einstein’s equation numerically on multicube representations of manifolds with arbitrary spatial topologies. This method is designed to provide a set of flexible, easy to use computational procedures that make it possible to explore the never before studied properties of solutions to Einstein’s equation on manifolds with arbitrary toplogical structures. A new covariant, firstorder symmetric-hyperbolic representation of Einstein’s equation is developed for this purpose, along with the needed boundary conditions at the interfaces between adjoining cubic regions. Numerical tests are presented that demonstrate the long-term numerical stability of this method for evolutions of a complicated, time-dependent solution of Einstein’s equation coupled to a complex scalar field on a manifold with spatial topology S. The accuracy of these numerical test solutions is evaluated by performing convergence studies and by comparing the full nonlinear numerical results to the analytical perturbation solutions, which are also derived here.

Solving partial differential equations numerically on manifolds with arbitrary spatial topologies

A multi-cube method is developed for solving systems of elliptic and hyperbolic partial differential equations numerically on manifolds with arbitrary spatial topologies. It is shown that any three-dimensional manifold can be represented as a set of non-overlapping cubic regions, plus a set of maps to identify the faces of adjoining regions. The differential structure on these manifolds is fixe...

An Efficient Numerical Algorithm For Solving Linear Differential Equations of Arbitrary Order And Coefficients

Referring to one of the recent works of the authors, presented in~cite{differentialbpf}, for numerical solution of linear differential equations, an alternative scheme is proposed in this article to considerably improve the accuracy and efficiency. For this purpose, triangular functions as a set of orthogonal functions are used. By using a special representation of the vector forms of triangula...

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

Mean value theorem for integrals and its application on numerically solving of Fredholm integral equation of second kind with Toeplitz plus Hankel ‎Kernel

‎The subject of this paper is the solution of the Fredholm integral equation with Toeplitz, Hankel and the Toeplitz plus Hankel kernel. The mean value theorem for integrals is applied and then extended for solving high dimensional problems and finally, some example and graph of error function are presented to show the ability and simplicity of the ‎method.
